Meditation is the main tool in Buddhist practice. There are many methods and reasons to meditate, and as far as we are concerned what ever you want to do is fine. Meditation at its root is sitting somewhere and letting your brain relax. You don’t want to think about anything in particular, but if you do have thoughts let them exist, and then let them float away.
